The DirectX11 Ocean Tech demo has been release and found. Over on youtube it was found, but here it is on this site

It looks like we are going to see just what DirectX11 can do before the ed of the year. TweakTown is reporting that Nvidia is going to release their much anticipated DirectX11 video cards around Q4 2009.
Nvidia is going to skip releasing DirectX10.1 and go straight to DX11. Their ws no major difference between DX10 and DX10.1, but ATI/AMD just wanted a little advantage saying that it is the first DirectX10.1 Card.
Some new specs have been revealed about Nvidia's up and coming GTX 275. It seems like it is going to be half of the GTX 295. The specs are

Over at Nordichardware they have uncovered some "naked" pictures pertaining to the much anticipated Hd 4890. The pictures are of ASUS's card that is really nothing more than an overclocked HD 4870.

Even thought it seems like just and overclocked 4870, ASUS has added some extra touches to theirs. They said that the HD 4890 with have an extra boost in overclocking because they have revised the power circuitry, allowing the card to have higher clock rates.
All I really want to see is the HD 4870 put in the same system as the 4890 was tested upon, to see just how much performance gain there is.
Supposedly this is the new new ATI HD 4890 video card heavily overlcocked at 1000/1125 MHz. The original clock speeds for this card were going to be 850/975 MHz, but this seems to be an overclocked version.

The card got a score of X5480 and seems to be on par with the GTX280-GTX285 because the CPU score is around the same. No one can say for sure that this is the HD 4890, but sources say that the card will be releasing with heavily overclocked models first.

Today EVGA has released four different versions of the GTS250. The four models include 512mb as well as a 1gb model. There are two cards for the 512 and 1gb models which include a superclocked version of each. The superclocked versions have the following specs:
Core Clock: 771MHz
Processing Cores: 128
Memory Clock Speed: 2246MHz
Memory Bandwidth: 71.8GB/sec
Shader Clock Speed: 1890MHz
Bus: PCI-E 2.0
Shader Clock Speed: 1890MHz

The normal card, not overclocked, has slightly lower clock speeds.

Still unannounced by ATI, but this their first attempt at making a 40nm card. The HD4750 card is similar to the HD3840, but the difference is that it has GDDR5 memory while having a 125 bit bus. From all of the tests this seems to be a very promising card for under the $100 mark.
Intel has confirmed that they have finished the development of their next generation manufacturing process. This will allow them to make the new 32nm processors based on the Core i7 technology. The new processors are due out sometime in quarter four of 2009. Their will be new technology for the 32nm process like immersion lithography which is developed by IBM and AMD.



Some more pictures have emerged of Nvidia's new GX2 card. Basically it is just going to be either a GTX260 or GTX 280 slapped together like another 9800GX2. If it is going to be anything close to the 9800GX2 then it will shurley be outdated in one to to months like the 9800GX2 was. Anyways the projected specs are going to be 480 sp 289W TDP and also have quad sli support. The cock speeds have not yet been determined, but are soon to be released.

Google is starting to get into the Internet browser business with there beta version of Google Chrome. After reading some people who have used it already they say that it is really fast, but lacks a pop-up blocker or ad-blocker plug ins.

According to Fudzilla the ATI 4870X2 is going to be released next week with 2gb of GDDR5 memory. As I said before in some of my posts, the 4870X2 beats the GTx280 in almost all of the benchmarks, same with the GTX260. What we still do not know is if it beats it compared to the GTX280 55nm, but there should not be that much of a change from 65nm to 55nm just higher clocks and lower temps.
Fudzilla did not name any of the sources, so we do not know if the release is really going to happen next week but it should come out soon.

Ever since Apple unvailed the iPhone with a touch screen display, everybody seems to be want to develope some sort of touch screen device. The computer company HP announced that within 18 months they should have a touch screen monitor for sale.
The technology is going to be brand for for the touch screen device. Simply trying to use the iPhone's touch display will just not cut it with a large monitor for that fact that it will be too expensive. Here is the new technology explained in detail:
HP’s personal computer and Microsoft Surface Table and Touch Wall rely on cameras built into the four corners of the monitors to make their touch screens react. These screens generally use LEDs to shine light across the surface areas. When a finger interrupts that light pattern, the cameras sense where the finger (or fingers) are based upon how the light scatters and react accordingly, all without the need for either a network of chips underneath the screen or pressure-sensitive films.
But between the large-screen touch offerings and the existing capacitive screens on cell phones, notebooks and tablets have languished, with most using resistive screens, which measure touch via pressure applied using a stylus or fingertip. Many tablet and laptop makers have capacitive screens in their product road maps, but in order to really drive adoption, they’ll need to incorporate applications that take advantage of touch.
The market for laptops with touchcreens is probably the ripest one for HP, as people are accustomed to using touchpads and the like with them already. On a dedicated desktop, it will take a lot of extra utility to overcome the mouse as the pointer of choice. But we all often point at our computer, even if it's only one finger, and yell at it too. It's almost inevitable that we'll eventually get rid of the middleman -- the mouse --altogether.


After Nvidia released the GT200 + R177 drivers, Nvidia is now set to release the so called “Big Bang II,” which will include OpenGL 3.0 plus SLI with multiple monitors.
Along with the OpenGL 3.0 Nvidia claims that they will have a new set of codec library which will allow 10X faster encoding than a quad core cpu.

The multiple monitor support with sli means that you can have dual monitor display while using SLI for better performance in games or applications.

Microsoft has sued the computer mouse maker Primax over patent infringement. Apparently Primax has used Microsoft patent for the U2, Tilt Wheel, and magnifier features in some of the mouses.
This all would have been avoided if Primax would contact Microsoft because Microsoft contacted Primax several time to sign a licensing agreement for the features.

Apple will supposedly be switching over to Nvidia chipsets according to NordicHardware. Apple made big news when it first switched over from AMD to Intel because of Integrated graphics.Also over at PC Perspective , they made a list of possible reason the Apple would want to switch over to Nvidia chipsets. Here they are:

Apple has shown no interest in Intel's new Centrino 2 platform, which falls into the hands of Nvidia being very quiet about their mobile platfom and chipset.![]()
This is the next big thing to hit Microsoft. They have a 360 globe that has a multi-touch inference. This is how Microsoft explained there new technology:
"Our prototype device builds on a commercially available globe projection system (Global Imagination’s Magic Planet). We have added touch-sensing capabilities with an infrared camera that shares the optical path with the projector. This novel configuration permits us to enclose both the projection and the sensing mechanism in the base of the device and allows for easy 360 degrees access to the device and high degree of interactivity without shadowing or occlusion problems. We have also developed a custom graphics projection pipeline that solves the distortion problems and enables projected data to be correctly visualized on the curved surface.
The applications developed for Sphere currently include a picture and video browser, interactive globe visualization, finger painting, globe visualization, and an omni-directional video-conferencing application (360 degree panoramic video from Microsoft RoundTable device). These applications are designed for highly interactive public space environments (e.g., museums, lobbies, information booths) and highlight the appeal of the device as well as its visualization and interaction capabilities."



We can now see the design of the Diamond 4870X2 and how it preforms in Futuremark Vantage. From what I am searching and seeing, it beats the GTX by a far margin. We are still waiting to have a confirmed launch date, but even if that happens ATI/AMD will find something to make them delay the video card.

According to NodicHardware Nvidia is planning a big bang like when SLI first came out. Nvidia did not say what, but it is not going to be the GT200B, that is supposed to spoile the 4870X2 debut. The bang might be a very good up-scaling SLI capability almost to the point where two cards would be 2X instead of 1.4X.
